Our role within the Group: Strategy, Markets & Development
TKMC is where the strategic reorientation of the thyssenkrupp Group is developed, defined and implemented. With around 70 employees, internal management consulting accounts for the largest share of the thyssenkrupp Group's corporate function Strategy, Markets & Development (SMD).
With a direct reporting line to the CEO, the main tasks of the SMD function are to develop comprehensive market and competitor analyses, prepare regional and business strategies, and execute portfolio optimizations as well as growth programs.
The focus is on transforming thyssenkrupp into a diversified industrial group that profits from global megatrends and offers solutions to the issues and challenges of the 21st century.
Our yearly Strategy Convention
Day-to-day work in the individual national markets is of course critical for the success of thyssenkrupp’s overall strategy. Dialogue across national borders and between business areas is facilitated by the annual strategy convention which focuses on specialist topics as well as networking and getting to know colleagues.
