Business Area Components Technology
The companies of our Business Area Components Technology have two things in common: they manufacture high-quality components and are global market leaders.
The companies manufacture, for example, assembled camshafts and crankshafts as well as engine components. Millions of these components are used in internal combustion engines of all conceivable kinds. With their remarkable performance and low weight they repeatedly demonstrate their superiority. Large slewed bearings, an indispensable component of wind energy mills, ship cranes and mining systems belong to the product portfolio of the Business Area. Furthermore, Components Technology develops and manufactures steering shafts, steering columns and steering gears. Components Technology is a global synonym for innovative and high-tech auto chassis products.
Business Area Elevator Technology
The Business Area Elevator Technology combines ThyssenKrupp’s global activities in the field of passenger transportation systems. 50,000 employees at over 900 locations around the world provide a tight service network close to our customers.
The range of products contains passenger and freight elevators, escalators, passenger boarding bridges as well as stair and platform lifts. In addition to systems for the volume market, the portfolio also includes customized solutions as well as service, maintenance and modernization packages precisely tailored to our customers.
Business Area Industrial Solutions
Industrial Solutions includes the full range of specialist engineering and construction services as well as plant-construction and ship-building. More than 18,000 employees at over 70 locations form a global network and develop chemical plants, refineries and other industrial facilities, equipment for the cement and minerals industries, machinery and systems for the mining, port facilities and submarines. Further fields of business include automation solutions for alternative battery systems, innovative lightweight design solutions, and equipment and test systems for the aerospace industry.
Business Area Materials Services
With 500 branches in 40 countries, the Materials Services Business Area is focused on the global distribution of materials and the provision of complex technical services for manufacturing sectors. Besides the outlet-oriented material trading, Business Area Materials Services is also organizes significant parts of the supply chain of a global aircrafts manufacturer.
Business Area Steel Europe
Steel is by far the most important industrial material. The Business Area Steel Europe is one of the world's technology leaders in carbon steel flat products. With around 28,000 dedicated employees and highly efficient production facilities, the business area supplies intelligent steel products for the innovations of tomorrow. With its expertise in the development of materials, coatings and innovative processing technologies, Steel Europe meets rising demands for weight reduction and safety specifically in the automotive industry.
