At TKMC we focus on individuality and team spirit, supported by an atmosphere of mutual respect, constructive cooperation, and the knowledge and dedication of each individual. Openness, honesty and empathy are further important elements of our corporate culture.
We all contribute with our personality, skills and commitment not only to ensure the success of our consulting projects but also to help continuously develop and expand TKMC and create a unique team spirit.
Networking & internationality
As internal management consultancy for the entire thyssenkrupp Group we support national and international projects all around the world. On every project our teams get to know new colleagues with different areas of expertise, so over time they build up a broad and global network of experts and managers. Especially the internationality is obvious at the annual strategy convention, where strategist from all Business Areas around the world discuss future strategies for the Group.
Pakistan, India, Bulgaria and the UK – just some of the countries our TKMC colleagues come from. As a result we constantly gain insights into different cultures and our team language is English. Cooperating on projects with external consultants or specialists is another way we gain new insights and share knowledge. It also offers the opportunity to expand personal networks to include people outside TKMC and thyssenkrupp.
Diversity at TKMC
As a large diversified group thyssenkrupp appreciates diversity and the coming together of different cultures and promotes this aspect of its corporate culture in numerous ways. For example thyssenkrupp is involved in the Femtec career network, which encourages female students to take technical degree courses. The Group has also set itself the goal of having 15% of management positions filled by women by 2020.
A further area of diversity management at thyssenkrupp is work-life balance, and the company provides a range of services aimed at making it easier to combine work and family life. They include parent-child offices and an in-company kindergarten.
Another example is the employee network LGBTI@thyssenkrupp, which was created in 2016 to promote the interests of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transsexual and intersexual employees.
TKMC also attaches particular importance to diversity. The TKMC team comprises a broad range of personalities from widely different backgrounds. This diversity is the basis for the success of our global projects and contributes to our special team spirit – something we are very proud of.
That means diversity to our colleagues:
Our events
With around 75 colleagues, everybody at TKMC knows each other, which foster an open and respectful communication. We use our office Fridays, when the team meets up at the office in Essen, to exchange experience and information, have team meetings and training or coaching sessions, and of course for recruitment. In addition we have annual team events such as our offsite meeting and our social day to promote togetherness.
